  1.  Travel Allowance

The travel allowance provided to an SSC Junior Engineer is dependent upon the space the person has to travel daily from home to the place of work. This will be increased if they are required to do additional fieldwork.

  1.  House Rent Allowance (HRA)

According to the 7th Pay Commission recommendations, the HRA for central government employees under the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is determined as a percentage of their basic pay. The exact percentage of HRA varies based on the city of posting. For cities with a population of ₹50 lakhs and above, the HRA is 24% of basic pay. For cities with a population between ₹5 to ₹50 lakhs, the HRA is 16% of basic pay. For cities with a population below ₹5 lakhs, the HRA is 8% of basic pay.

  1.  Medical Allowance

The railways provide a fixed medical allowance for railway employees to meet their daily medical expenses. 

  1.  Other Special Allowance

The SSC JE receives other special allowances for recreational activities.
